If Merc has left I'm confident it isn't because he got run off, but because he realised no-one was taking his BS seriously any more.

Well, I hope he hasn't vanished.
I don't see why he would feel 'run off' by us anyway. Every so often he acts like a dick. Like most of us do from time to time. And when he acts like a dick he gets jumped on. Like most of us from time to time. The last time he breezed through here he was being nasty and aggressive and people responded in annoyance. No different to any of the other times. I see no reason why he'd have taken it any more to heart this time.
