We are, somewhat. We think/hope maybe he got freaked by the thunder, belted into some open garage and got shut in by someone who hasn't come home yet....

Oh thank FSM for that. Horrible when a pet is missing.

Poor lamb, has he been in a fight, or clipped by a car or something?

Mon, having gone through the trauma (word used lightly, but it bloody hurt) of a missing cat who never returned, you have my heartfelt congratulations. Very pleased he's back.

Thanks guys. He really wasn't gone for very long -24 hours, but it was still unusual. And we were obviously right to be worried as he is hurt, but full damage/need for vet trip not yet assessed. He wasn't too keen on being inspected last night, but could walk ok and wasn't all pissy when we tried to look at his foot, just very very wriggly and very very hungry and pretty filthy, so we thought we'd let him clean it off and check this morning. He has yet to surface from the pit where he likes to sleep AKA Hector's bed.....

Here's Ivan this morning. You can see his eye problem, which a vet told me was allergies. Makes sense, since a lot of people suffer, especially this time of year (wind blows a LOT here). Vet told me to change his food to some special kind of food (which she then offered to sell me). But he doesn't seem to be suffering from it, and he's always had it, so I'm not really treating it. I've tried eye drops, but they don't seem to help much. Second pic is a play pic (can't get a decent action shot with my iPhone)

.

Oh, Ivan is a beauty. I thought you were brushing his teeth in that second pic.

thanks; he's a gigantosweetiefurball.

Looks like it, doesn't it? It's actually a q-tip like thing (makeup applicator) he has appropriated as a toy. He likes to dunk it in his water bowl, and bring it to me to throw so he can fetch.

My friend has recommended MSM eyedrops for him--we'll see if those help.
