AOL + Linux?
hehe
I'm not sure if this goes in the "image" category, but it makes me laugh... Last edited by adny; 01-21-2002 at 11:46 PM. |

Thankfully, that rumor has been quelled. AOL/TW is, I believe, worse than Microsoft. I really wouldn't want them having any controlling interest in one of my favorite Linux distributions and, I might add, the one that's most likely to make any inroads for marketshare. That would be a bad thing. Could you imagine - Digital Rights Management built into Red Hat?

Has the rumor been quelled? I tried to tell people that it didn't make any sense, but they didn't want to listen to me.

Yup, they say they were never in talks and by the end of the day RHAT stock was down about a half a buck.

PIty, seemed liek a good iea to me, from the perspective of hte larger linux community. My guesstimate was they wantedit for embedded stuff rather than desktop and iether way i would have though mandrake would have been better but its still a pity.
