Internal threat to the US? Crazy tax dodgers? Moonshiners/pot growers? Religious cult?
Don't think so, just some left over hippies having fun, and making a couple bucks selling coins, stamps, and stuff.

September 3rd 1999 XXII - The communist government is renounced, and the Republic of Molossia is established.

I guess they gave up the commie thing, when they discovered the US would not invade, and pour millions into nation building foreign aid.

I love micronations. A friend of mine has declared the interior of his car to be an independent nation. He figures that if he ever gets a ticket, the paperwork will constitute an implicit recognition of its status.

Either that, or when the first Barnes and Noble opened up in their country they bought a dictionary and discovered that Sovereignty and Communism don't exactly go hand in hand.
