Why?
Apparently there is an American 'magician' perched in a box on the Tower Bridge. I think his name is David Blaine but don't quote me on that. Why is he doing this? Does he have a reason? Sponsers? I truly miss out on a lot of pop culture since I had the cable turned off.
If he had really wanted to make a statement about 'survival' he should have tried the Greater New Orleans Bridge in August. I'd give him half a day. What a wuss!

Here is a short article from Leisure Media based in the UK about this stunt.

Why do people do anything silly? I just watched the IMAX "Everest" film, which documents a climb done during the mountain's most deadly season ever.
11 people died on Everest as a result of a storm. Why did they do it? Wasn't it Hillary who answered with the immortal "Because it is there"? People do things because they want to see if they *can* do things. Of course, in Blaine's case, the whole stunt is likely as not to be some sort of hoax or trick, rather than an actual 46 day stint without food...that's what he does, and does well.

Doh! A quick Google would have made me look less stupid, huh?
Thanks for the correction!

well all i can say is that down in the south, if you hear someone say/shout "hey y'all watch this!" it's most likely going to be the last thing they ever say so get out of their way!
blaine is a pretty good magician, i've seen the specials on discovery/TLC. it's good entertainment. i like to figure out his stunts/tricks. can't get them most of the time but i've gotten a few...
