I've come to the conclusion my house needs a new roof. But I'm unemployed so now is not the best time. And I'm hearing that the roof business is brisk right now so prices are sky high....
Suddenly my friends eave paint job/small roof repair morphed into an entire new roof (which they are doing themselves)...... and now the house for sale next door (because they both died) is getting a new roof and the workers are clumsy, careless, and noisy and right next to where I'm sat trying to apply for jobs whilst worrying about the damage they are causing to my garden and lawn -that I have been working very hard on. Tossing trash everywhere.... one was standing in the middle of my front lawn, leaning on a shovel that was dug into my grass..... gggggrrrrrrrr scorched. Like they will be if they leave any evidence of their rxistance in my yard. GETOFFMYLAWN

computer problems and persistent echoes of computer problems.
long story short, do your backups people. it's not a backup if you haven't successfully completed a restore. long story slightly less short, the permissions on several parts of my drive got corrupted (windows update and your heedless restarting, I'm looking at you fucker). MUCH agony and frustration followed and was relieved when I "reset" Windows. But my apps were not reinstalled. This was revealed (again) today when I went to post some pics here (well, over there >>>) and did not have my expected tools at hand. Where the fuck is the install package for Picasa Photo Viewer? It's around here somewhere... Groove scorched.
