When I was in College in the early 70s there was an active Gay group on campus and they set up a Gay kissing booth-free.So in response some heteros set up an alternative hetero kissing booth in the same building(the Student Activity Center)-also free.I got to kiss a pretty girl I didn't know at this booth.

I'm 45 and I remember lieud seaside postcards as a kid and with the hot sun, the cockels, whelks, mussels and the whole fish and chips thing; wrapped up in salt and malt vinegar in yesterday's daily newspapers with the options of savaloy sausages and scotch eggs I did'nt know of the sexual content that English beaches availed. Yet I have been very embarrased to ask a Canadien Ski instructor recently when he mentioned a glory hole: " What's a glory hole ?" and he told me. I am very happy to remember a time gone by when sexual things were suggested and spontaneous. Today life is all too graphic.

I was under the impression--though like you, glatt, only through pop culture references--that they were supposed to be pretty chaste kisses, perhaps even on-the-cheek only.

when i was in elementary school, they had just stopped having one every year in the Field Day events.

or maybe that was in a movie i saw.....

The values of society shift over time.

At first, you have kissing booths at the county fair. Eventually you get glory-hole facials on the internet. It's a natural progression.

times change. we used to give baskets of flowers to our neighbors and dance the maypole on May Day, too.
