thank you!

ill look into that cd. ive found that he pretty much likes anything by tmbg, and a lot of oldies. which isnt too bad, but its really not my bent. he like early beatles stuff, which is good. and sak, especially the aquabats. but it will be a cold day in hell before i buy him kidz bop. i cant stand that insipid tripe when its sung by the 'artists', let alone chipmunk kids. its really hard to find music for him that that is a) tolerable to me, and b) isnt offensive.

i woke up this morning to beautiful blue skies with nary a cloud in sight. sort of a shock, but im glad to actually be able to come to work. we were going a bit stir crazy.

There is some kid music that I find quite tolerable- if you can find it. its an older comp album called Stay Awake and its Disney related music done by a variety of folks- Los Lobos does something from Jungle Book, Bonnie Raitt does a beautiful rendition of "Baby Mine" from Dumbo,etc... its fun for all ages.

Your great day was a model snow day.

Actually, I have "Stay Awake". I thought most of the songs were a little on the mature side in that it was Disney-themed alternative music. It's more for nostalgic adults than children. In fact, one of the songs was a little on the creepy side. But that's just me. After all, not every kid's CD has to sound like Barney.

Yeah, it is not the usual fare, but kids I know dig it, particularly the m-i-c-k-e-y song. And I guess I've never noticed a creep factor that much because most of the kids/parents I know kinda sound like Tom Waits anyway.

Stay Awake is great. I have the LP and disc. Things like "When You Wish Upon A Star" by Ringo Starr and Herb Alpert or "Baby Mine" from Dumbo by Bonnie Raitt. Also "I Wan'na Be Like you" by Los Lobos and "Pink Elephants On Parade" by Sun Ra. First released in 1988 on A&M records. CD 3918, DX 003644.
