3/23/2006: World record igloo village
Axlrosen, who is on fire with images, suggests this item which was also Boing Boing'd. What did YOU do last weekend? 240 people in Switzerland took it upon themselves to set a world record. They constructed a little village of 100 igloos in 12 hours, with no mechanical assistance. And they did it! It just took the right sort of fuel. Looks like fun. And then at night it got really beautiful. One of the most interesting photos, one from the inside. The finger marks give it a haunting feeling. |

Now I feel as though I wasted my weekend.

It was beautiful for a day, then a wandering construction worker with a blowtorch and a gut full of whiskey took it upon himself to get rid of it.

I'm thinking that I should move there, then I wouldn't have the problem of trying to keep all my wine cold. Easy solution.

The bottle on the left is leaning up against the yellow snow.

I think the bottle of beer froze and blew the top off. Happenend last summer in my freezer.
I really liked the snow sculpture in the fifth image. I always wondered what an igloo looked like at night. Way cool. And I especially love these multiple image IOtDs. Thanks again, UT.
