I can protect your life. You cannot protect mine. One of us is sloughing. You figure it out. I am more civilized than you have been for decades. After all, in contrast to you, I am the anti-genocide one here. The NRA-ILA amounts to the strongest, and most effectual, human rights lobby on the face of the Earth.

Considerations like this mean I don't vote Democratic. They are not, in an impressive and fundamental way, at all interested in human rights. They'll tell you they are; they may even believe they are -- their actions and policymaking say they are not.
