This place only works when everyone is civil, when they`re not, it end up like a bunch of teenaged girls having a bitchfight in a matter of seconds. THe problem with the net (as the esteemed penny arcade pointed out recently) that normal people suddenly feel like expressing their inner asshole, just pretend it`s in person and we`ll all get along better.

If you`re wondering, I actually do do that, I`m just an abrasive person.

::sigh:: Please don't. Really. There is nothing to be solved with it and it's just annoying at this point.

Sycamore, I'm sorry you felt threatened by my offer of lunch. I was really just mocking the tough guy routine... wasn't even going to actually cook anything....

Agreed. Plus, there are more important things to be mad about...like it being goddamned hot here and those nasty cicadas haven't come yet!

*juuuust kidding around folks*

For the record, I started the name-calling by calling Jim a "mouthbreather." That was uncool, and I apologize.

( slang notes to self that the term "mouthbreather" is actually an insult and not some type of strange compliment )

I've got my son for the weekend, and I'm thinking about taking him to the Zoo. We have a really neat one down here in the Springs. They have a giraffe habitat where you can stand on this balcony and actually feed em. I had never really thought much of giraffes until one was staring me in the face trying to get ahold a cracker. They really are very pretty animals.

The Cherokee Nation PowWow is being held this weekend at Temple University Ambler Campus. I'm going!!

I'm close enough (three miles) that I usually go for two out of the three days, once for the trading (usually involving green pieces of paper with pretty pictures, but I have traded my beadwork on occasion), once so I can really focus on watching the dancers.

Anybody in southeastern PA who wants to go to one of the best powwows in the area (only one I've heard get better reviews is Rancocas, and theirs is a lot more commercial), it's 5/29-31/04, take Route 309 to the Ambler Exit. They usually have fantastic signs from there. If not, it's not hard to find ... roll down the window and listen for drumming.

Yeah! My husband works Friday, and I'm working Sunday and Monday. Go us! This means we can actually spend Saturday together. But of course, we can't go anywhere really fun, because the really fun stuff is 8 + hours away.
