Have you ever heard Kronos' version of "Purple Haze"? It is great!
I will admit that they can get avant gard to the point of noise, though.

best worst song ever? the Shaggs "doin' it" it's so completely beautifully horrible.. like rubber-necking at a train wreck. I tried to find a link to it somewhere on the web, but so far no luck.
other than that pretty much the bulk of new country (bleargh!) most of the new crop of top 40 (punke).. yeah I know I'm getting old and out of touch with popular music.. HEY! wait a second.. I was never in touch with popular music

Two worst songs for me are "I've got a brand new combine harvester" by The Wurzels
and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" as sung by William Shatner. "Girl you'll be a woman soon" I hate on a sociopolitical level but kind of like as a soulful piece mainly because it works so bloody well in that scene from Pulp Fiction. |

Totally serious. I love Shatner but i cannot watch that performance without cringing to the max. Though in fairness Leonard Nimoy's offering was even worse and since it was straight faced attempt, even more cringy

I've got a brand new combine harvester, you've got a brand new key, I think we should get together and try them out...

After some careful thought, two songs come to mind:
"Copa Cabana" by Barry Manilow http://www.angelfire.com/va/srisons/cabana.html "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl..." "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip...23/icebaby.txt "Take heed, 'caese I'm a lyrical poet..." Oddly enough "Ice Ice Baby" was sampled from one of my favorite songs. "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie http://www.queenwords.com/lyrics/songs/sng19_02.shtml I ran a DJ company when "Ice Ice Baby" was released and it killed nightly to play this shit on the big speakers to a roomful of screaming girls. Sometimes I'd slip "Under Pressure" into the mix just to watch the crowd turn on me. I never had the time to explain the song was a rip off...
