lol ---they're all suncatchers---my house faces east and I get sun almost all day long thru the window.

the spiral one is from New Orleans but I've seen similar ones in other places.

From Wiki...
Quote:
Leaverite is a slang term used by geologists, mineralogists, archaeologists, and amateur rock collectors to identify a specimen in the field that may look interesting but is actually not. Rocks identified as such are generally left where they were found, as there is no reason to attempt to remove them.

Oh.

well, bruce, you're right-----i liked them; I don't care if they are 'interesting' or not. I just got a good feeling from them. They wanted me to take them home.

BigV - sometimes you can just be, well, a leaverite.

Rock people are looking for the rare and unusual, the rest of us just look for pretty. I must have seen a hundred of those geodes with the crystals inside, but they still impress the shit out of me... they're pretty.

When you have a big strong son, it's hard to find good leaverite.

Give me some leaverite, and a place to stand, and I shall move the Earth! Or at least a rock or two.

Oh I love your place!
It looks like I could just move in.

Do you want to hear something really weird?
Okay then.
I kept looking for traces of me. Like knick knacks I've bought you, photos I've sent you, pictures on the wall etc.
I had to shake my head to clear the delusion; you are not in fact a relative, or someone I live close to. I think it's because so often I see things and think, "Oh I bet Bri would love that!" and somewhere in my head is the idea that in fact I have purchased and had them shipped.

You know, that pastel pink food mixer, those Union Flag cushions, that gorgeous chaise longue, the teaset you will only ever display and not use, the lovely blankie and all the rest.

Great to see the house.
