Another worn reject. This one would have made a better entry, but I didn't think I'd make it out to the old C&O Canal this week.

Tow rope marks in the stone around an old canal lock. And a nice crop of poison ivy.

New Microscope

I picked up a cheap 100/200/300x microscope with a digital camera module included.

Here are my first pictures of a dried flower and some pollen.

I am not happy about the bluish 'dead zone' in the middle of the slide. It appears that the center of the built in LED is focused on the center of the slide.

The included software did not run on Windows 7. I used Irfanview and TWAIN to take the pictures.

I was trying to take some pics of these little pink flowers (some kind of rose, I think) Momdigr has in one of her flower corners, when I suddenly sensed I wasn't alone...

ETA: I may have mentioned this, but, Momdigr can pet this dove. Popdigr mows all around her and she stays put (when weedwhacking too). Weird.

and LJ you did not take those photos! No ,I know you did but wow. You really have a talent. That should be hanging huge in someones office building.
