I want right seat. I want to see how boring it is to fly over the Rockies. Plus I want to press the "RATATATATATAT" button. Navigate the return trip via LAS please.

My uncle was getting ready to fly back to Alaska (from Massachusetts) when a local guy told him he was going up to teach school and would be taking his own plane. He asked my Uncle if he wanted to ride along. Sure, sounds like fun.
Turns out it was a high wing and this guy wasn’t instrument rated.
It was March and they could only fly in daylight and good weather.
Followed railroad tracks and the Alcan highway, slept under the plane in sleeping bags and it took them twice as long as he could have driven it in.

btw- The guy at work that takes the tank truck to Philly Airport to buy Jet-A for the helicopters says they’ve been paying $5 a gallon.

Actually, that does sound like fun. It beats a cramped seat in a commercial airliner eating $5 sandwiches and waiting for the line to the bathrooms to end. Of course, at least airliners have bathrooms.

I'm sure PltHijnx thought to take along an empty coffee can.

(He's not allowed to empty any beer bottles until he sets down, you see ... and it's tougher to aim at such a small target when you have to steer in three dimensions.)
