Brussels sprouts should have stayed in Brussels.
And boo to cabbage and boo to stuffed cabbage and to stuffed peppers and to sauerkraut. |

There is apparently a substance in brussel sprouts which is mildly toxic unless cooked out and which even when cooked often makes children feel sick.

Can I just be the Moana Lisa here?
Why do pizzas have to be all about one thing? Italian pizzas (in Italy) are very, very different, but even they are not all about one thing. Or if they are, it's a yummy thing. BTW eggs on pizza are gorge... if they look cooked! I do not want a Meast Feast. I want onions on there, some pinepple. I do not want the only standard option including anchovies to be a Catch of the Day where all you get is fish and sliced tomatoes. I quite fancy Tandoori Chicken from time to time, but not some sort of gimmicky Curry pizza, or as a Chicken Special pizza. And yes, I can build my own, only to find that I one of my choices is my sauce (free change on menu), the FSMing sauce! And it works out twice as expensive all round, becuse the standard pizzas have about four toppings and the Make Your Own only allows you four. I guess they put the people who can read on the MYO and they are on a higher wage. ALSO - if I substitute 2x veg for 2x meat why have I reached my limit? Surely onions are cheaper than tuna?! This thread reveals the following - I have not had pizza for far too long - I think about things way too much - I have not had sex for far too long - Pizza companies are like, really unfair All of which I think y'all knew.

I've only had brussel sprouts a handful of times. Every time they were roasted with lots of garlic, spices and bacon. I enjoyed them immensely.

Yay! Other people who like brussels sprouts! It's all in how they're cooked (I suspect most of our parents were guilty of boiling them into sodden lumps of bitterness). Done right, they're yummm.

Last weekend I made my own dough for pizza. I use Unico spicy pizza sauce, add freshly sliced cremini mushrooms, diced cherry tomatoes, a little green pepper, lots of oregano and pepper topped with a sharp local cheddar and tiny blobs of Danish Blue. Just before popping it into the oven we mince about 12 green olives (ooo the salt

Minifobette adores brussels sprouts, they're one of her favorite foods. I roast them in the oven for her with oil, salt, and pepper.

Limeg - that pizza sounds yum. Photo next time. Or it didn't happen. You should know that by now.
Sprouts: my bessie in London loved sprouts; they were her favourite vegetable (and she couldn't even adulterate them with bacon, being a strict veggie.) Weird. The 'rents are mad-crazy about them, but they do eat them even when it's not Christmas.

Big chunks of tomato in anything are NOT acceptable. (It's related to an ugly childhood incident that involved maggots. 'Nuff said.)
No star anise or licorishy (sp?) tasting anything. Barf. Okra is great deep fried, but the slime factor makes it too nasty to eat any other way. Oysters? Oh, FUCK no. |

I've never encountered an oyster that I liked.
And I love clams and mussels. why are oysters so different? |
