Mine: an item people use for something.

Is riddle.

As to yours, I'm thinking of the old "if a tree falls in the woods and there's no one to hear it..."

Now I would say lipstick or make-up brush.
But you say "people" not "laydees"

I will keep guessing.

Brush has to be part of it thanks to the clever use of bristle.
If'n it's a hedgehog then you're a plum and I don't like it.

Actually, I'll take make-up brush because it fits the riddle just as well...I was thinking of a paintbrush.

I have no wiener (taking your spelling) but I'll eat one!
Is that my prize? It's a good'un.

My riddle was referring to a particular recent thread.

I don't know how to convert bits. I'm totally confused. Does it have something to do with the US deficit?

A new one:

Blink blink blink blink blink
Light up as if I should care.
I do not answer.
