actually, the story does indicate that some alerts are optoutable, but "presidential" (wtf?) alerts would still come through.

I honestly don't feel like if my house gets hit directly that even in the bathroom, I'll be safe. So why spend my last moments bored or cowering in fear? Plus I need my comp to check the weather.
