LIFE is a Soap Opera.

Or a Friends episode. I keep thinking of one in particular where Ross was all confused because he was with Julie but was in love with Rachel. So he and the guys made a list of pros and cons. Which Rachel found.

Quote:
RACH: [near tears] No, you don't, Ross. Imagine the worst things you think about yourself. Now, how would you feel if the one person that you trusted the most in the world not only thinks them too, but actually uses them as reasons not to be with you.

ROSS: No, but, but I wanna be with you in spite of all those things.

RACH: Oh, well, that's, that's mighty big of you, Ross. [to the others] I said don't go!

ROSS: You know what? You know what? If, things were the other way around, there's nothing you could put on a list that would ever make me not want to be with you.

RACH: Well, then, I guess that's the difference between us. See, I'd never make a list.
This list thing...well, it was hurtful. So, jim made a mistake. I still consider him a friend.

And I think monster is a friend to jim. Friends will tell you what they think, not just blow smoke up your ass.

Well, I just wanted to say those last few things. It's been on my mind.

Now I think I'll go PM MoreThanBuxom. This seems like a Dwellar I need to get to know!

I don't know. I'm sad. But we're all stronger than this latest tear in the fabric, aren't we?

You should stick around BD. We're just like a big italian family. We yell and scream at each other from time to time, but we still feel the love. Don't you?

IMO, Jim was being kind. Seems like that is a foreign concept for some to grasp.
Honest need not only be brutal. There can be understanding and acceptance as well.
Whatever works for you, for him for whomever.
As one who didn't really post here, from the outside it did seem like a cumulative effort to attack, for lack of a better word.

Jim, do your thing man. I, for one, am proud of you trying to recognize your faults/weaknesses/whatever and attempting to improve yourself.

I kinda thought we were friends too... if we weren't I wouldn't even have bothered to explain why I was pissed off.

the last two sentences....

as I explained before (obviously not well enough)....

truth is easier than lying

was a parallell.

you defended the "new you" by saying it's harder than the "old you".

often the right road is harder, but that isn't always the case. truth is easier than lying. Doesn't mean it's the wrong path......

Yeah, but it sounds like bullshit because the truth us plainly harder than lying. Not the other way around.

It's easy to make a quick judgement of someone and belittle them. It's hard to see things through their eyes first.

You say I've lost my balls. That was easy to say. Hard to admit that you spoke hastily and regret it when you see that it hurt me, though, innit?

huh, no.

we should probably take this off board, but no, after what you did to me, I didn't figure you could even care what I said. Seemed like you were more interested in new skirt than old frienships

But you have a different idea of the truth. if lying was easy polygraphs wouldn't work. Far more stress is created by lying. I guess some people do find that easier than telling the truth, but that's generally not the norm.

I apologize for what you (all...well, some...) are imagining I said about you. I really didn't say anything specific about anyone. I do care about the friendships I have here. I should not have, even jokingly, swayed a new person's opinions about other people privately. I should have done it publicly if I was going to do it at all. At least you'd be able to defend yourselves.

I trust that Brill won't actually use that list to form her opinions about the people here. She's clearly experienced enough with forums to know better.

Anyway,... it won't happen again.

Actually, no. I think it's from too many years of having people piss on my shoes then tell me it's raining. One begins to doubt one's ability to interpret things.

"I didn't call you a liar, you fucking liar." Would have been much funnier, but then, you didn't ask me, did you?

Well, the feeling is mutual, Glatt.

You're a peach. A peach with a deep-seated need to be liked, coupled with a knack for pushing people away before they get too close (this may be that I was told once, and again it's back to the worst things you think about yourself, that if anyone REALLY knew me they wouldn't like me. This was back in the day when I seemed to have a million friends and a million admirers. This comment brought to surface all I'd unknowingly been telling myself for years, coming from a person I loved more than breathing. Devastating.)

BUT< a peach none the less. And you're OUR peach.

Now, I should get back to procrastinating.
