Dude, I hope you're not using up all the DUI luck. I need some in court on Thursday.

I didn't get to hunt this year at all. Next year, maybe.

Weatherbys are overpriced. Buy a Remington Model 700 - the choice of snipers worldwide.

oh yeah, deer meat, or vinison, is real good when done right. a texas favorite is vinison chile. slow cooked of course. another personal fav of mine is jalapeno deer sausage. i take the hind quarters to a processor in a small town just on the western outskirts of the city. they use 60% pork and 40% vinison. it's absolutely wonderful.
spikes are essentially deer that don't produce a full rack. see below:

correct so you have to take into account the size of the deer and the appearance as well as when they start growing their antlers for the season.

There is an absolutely magnificent 8 point buck that's been hanging out in front of the hospital. So magnificent, that tonight, a cop that was driving in was shining his spotlight into the field to get a better look at it. As he pulled up to the porch, he kept the light on the buck ... I asked him if he had a rifle with a scope on it in the paddy wagon. Unfortunately he didn't. If he had we would have had to flip for it.

We had a good 10 minute conversation about the relatively quality of the herd this year, along with the rumors of a controlled hunt on the property.

Then he extracted the patient from the back of the paddy wagon.
