Heh. Folks who don't live in Bumfuck Idaho just don't understand the shoe thing. I have a little sign by my front door that says "No Muddy Boots or Shoes!" And I mean it. I even have a little basket of plastic grocery store bags by the front door for people to wrap their feet with if they don't want to go through the hassle of unlacing and relacing. You're not dragging that shit onto my floors and carpets, oh hell no.

And I ALWAYS remove my shoes when I go into someone else's house, I don't care where they live. Invariably, the city dwellers will say, "Oh, you don't have to do that!" And I'll say, "Oh yeah, I think you want me to."
