I just wish I could play with them. I suppose at a minimum, I can listen in on the channels. Although the police recently switched to scrambled digital radio communications, pissing off scanner owners and news reporters. So there won't be anything juicy.

Frquencies used by police, fire, railroad, maritime, aeronautical, etc are different. Yours are in frequencies dedicated for services such as factories or Walmart.

When government is shutdown, black SUVs stay in the garage.

Maybe if you carried one on your commute, mumbling into it furtively, you could get a seat.
