... or he's a manipulative bugger who has twisted someone into appointing him.

If he's not fired in two years he'll have an enormous salary package with company cars and five-star lifestyle, and will eventually be 2forced out" by being given a huge payout.

Seriously, if you could get even two or three people to resign together, and write directly to each board member about it, you might at least save the MAW office there.

Zen, that happened at a place where I used to work. The director was hospitalised with a serious condition, possibly terminal. Her home office appointed some guy no one ever heard of to replace her. This guy waltzed in and started changing everything. Salaries, workspaces, procedures worked out over years of experience, new rules popped up everywhere. The office became a Hell overnight. Job satisfaction plummeted. People were fired or quit daily. Letters to the home office went unheeded.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The director made a miraculous recovery. When she was about to return, she called her secretary and was surprised to find that she didn't work there anymore and she was speaking to a temp. A few more calls around the office told the story. A plan was hatched.

Two days before she returned, the entire office up and quit. THAT finally got management's attention. When Director returned, she found an empty office, a befuddled replacement and a couple of temps hopelessly struggling to replace an entire office.

Replacement Director was quickly returned to Hell from whence he came and the entire office was called back and reinstated.

Sometimes, things just work out.

It's not quite hell here...yet. But moral is lower than I've ever seen.
People who have been here for 5+ years (including me) have left or will be leaving soon. This has all happened in the last few months.

I would have thought you'd be happy about a reduction in morals. Morale, on the other hand...

I'd at least send a letter to the board detailing why you're quitting.

There's always a settling in period when a new manager comes in. Normally at least one or two underlings think they should have at least been considered for the job, so that can cause a bit of stress. Sounds like your situation is a bit worse than that though.

Sounds good that you have other opportunities though.

Personally, I know the MAW foundation does great things for kids with cancer over here. My cousins daughter had cancer when she was about 6, and MAW did so many lovely things for her and the group of kids she was in hospital with. We are all so very grateful to MAW for making a horrendous time a little more bearable by the things they do.

I also have to give a mention to the starlight foundation. They were awesome too.
