On the subject of Rick Perry--does the rest of the country know of the rumor (assumption in many circles) that he is gay, or is that still only local knowledge? I mean, at least he's not one of those atheists...

Its been in the liberal blogs for a while now.

Its so much easier to disguise atheism. I wish there was something that could 'out' closet atheists. It would be amazing to see how many really don't believe anymore.

I have never officially outed myself to any family member except my brother. Who is an atheist too, just not as much of a flamer as I am. Or non-flamer as perhaps it should be.

AND I work in a faith school, hiding my abherration behind my working knowledge of the Bible.

I'm a closet case to be sure.

I am, as well, to certain people and depending on the situation. My husband became a full-fledged atheist after he married me (Muwhahaha - I corrupted him) and he has yet to come out to his mother who is a tried and true non-denominational Christian.

I was once disqualified for employment because of my religious preference. I put "none" under "Religion" on a job application to Campus Crusade for Christ as a young man. I didn't get the job, and things still worked out. But I believe (ha!) that my answer made my application easy to reject.

You weren't all that savvy as a young man, huh.

(I kid! I kid!)
