AA = African American (I think). Although the term African American is kind of strange if you think about it. How many generations removed are most black people living in America today? I have a Scottish earl 14 generations back in my family tree, can I claim royal blood?

Colored People

AAs indeed refers to African Americans. I usually use "blacks" and at times "Blacks." I agree that the AA term is misleading in regards to today's American black population. Blacks that have recently come here from Africa are very, very different, culturally speaking, than the indigenes. Recently, these poor kids from Sudan were mercilessly teased at the public schools here by our local blacks. I worked with a black South African last year and he was absolutely shocked at the "culture" of our urban black population. Mostly he was shocked by how many fat people he saw. He couldn't understand.
