Pessimistic
Food: Soylent Green. It's people! So it's me!
Garment: Sweatpants. The general public sees it but doesn't want to, considers it too loose and casual
Appliance: Dryer. Takes a lot of energy; basically sits in the corner and quivers.
Room: Panic room. Duh
Illness: Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Duh
War: US Civil War: In the end I'll be fine, and whole, but at what cost?

Optimistic
Food: Tanzanian peaberry coffee; Uncommon, strong, and probably even good for you
Garment: Mormon underwear. Underneath it all, I'm magic and sacred.
Appliance: Stick blender. It's surprisingly powerful.
Room: The war room. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here!
Illness: Post-nasal drip. You think it's funny but it's snot
War: Iraq 1. Generally considered useful and a good idea.
