What if any reasonable proposal in congress would result in gridlock, anyway? Could someone making an attempt to nudge American politics a few degrees back from the far-right leaning course it's been on since the 1980s possibly make more of a contribution to society by having a national spotlight to change the dialogue?

Doesn't Bernie need to hold the Executive Branch's feet to the fire, so that all of the left-leaning concessions Clinton has made as campaign promises (and we all know the value of those) might actually continue forward as ideas that are being talked about, past the primary season?
