An interesting principles applies. Homesick at home. It does not only apply to Jews. It seems to be a growing attitude among all Frenchmen who regard France as less safe.

You'd feel less safe too if you knew that when the going got tough, large segments of your population were going to bail out on you. But that's what it is to be French.

In 1967 there were 1 million Muslims out of 51 million in France. Now it's 3 to 5 million(1 million are citizens), out of 66 million. So the Muslims haven't swamped France, but they are mostly poor, mostly ghettoed, and increasingly more militant, rejecting France's long held assimilation policy, demanding France change to suit them.

That kind of growth and militancy of the sworn enemy, is kind of old hat to the Jews, but France's inability,(or perceived unwillingness) to protect them, has to be unnerving. I suspect some of what is called anti-Semitism of non-sworn enemy French, is really resentment of bankers-brokers-traders-wealthy, after the last global financial meltdown.

America also has a high influx of Muslim who feel more welcome. Even in Detroit, where the economy is particularly bad, a large and growing Muslim community considers their new home country more friendly.

Some estimates (all before this event) put at least 25% of Frenchmen with a poor opinion of Muslims. Numbers imply why French immigrant have more problems than their American immigrant cousins.

That's only urban myths. No large ex-flux from France exists.
