I enjoy it when a Dagnabit thread gets updated, because Dagnabit was me.

I hate Comcast. I have expensive service that's supposed to give me awesome download speed (15MG+), but all I can depend on is that after about 30 seconds of access it slows to where every website times out.
The speed tests I use give me download speeds from 1 MB/sec to 17 MB/sec, which is laughable. I wish I could change to DSL but I have a contract. ![]()

Oops ... I meant to write 15 Mbps. The speed tests most often show between 3 and 12, but the most frustrating thing is having it work for a few minutes and then everything just hangs and times out. I'll have no service for unpredictable lengths of time and then it comes back. I don't know what to do about it - never had this situation before. They just tell me that my speed is good; my issue is that it only works a few minutes at a time!

Maybe you could tell your neighbors to turn off all electrical appliances and computers,
and evacuate the area because of an impending disaster would give more speed to your cable. |
