i don;t see a great difference between this and baptism. apart from the blood. and the big scary knives.
people do some fucked up stuff to their bodies and their kids' bodies. chinese folk bind feet, some tribes in africa stretch necks, put plates in their lips, ears and who knows where else. people perform female circumscisions, massive tattoing and scarring. it freaks you out because you see a bloody child.
