I had a long discussion with some fairly bright friends, and we tried to figure out where the hell The Big Lebowski came from. What kind of mind inspired all the weird shit that goes on in that movie?
The Cohens themselves say that they don't know what the film is about, and that the tale is simply that, a tale. Our conclusion: they linked together a bunch of stories that have all happened, and created a meta-narrative about life through these reediculous shorts. Or, that might have been the Jameson talking. "If he was a lazy man, and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles county, which would place him high in the running for laziest in the world."
