Did you really have to sit on a toilet with a hole in the side that people could poke twigs, branches or whatever through? Has it had any lasting effects? Like the idea that you can hold hands with a friend while using it though!!!!!!

Happy Monkey is on the right track, but I think it's more of a way of letting the mountain air help circulate and aid in decomposition. I actually had a mouse run in and out once while I was taking care of business.

You see less and less of these now out there, they are mainly on trails that require materials to be brought in by horesback. More females in the program have made for outhouses with more privacy but less of a view.
