Like his uniform and demeanor, it was a very polished and moving presentation.

Maybe I am misinterpreting Merc's lead comment.
I would have chosen something like "Why we have military forces"

If someone were to read "Why we take up the gun" as a justification
for controlling civilian crime, as did the Commander's brief excursion
into "reduced crime rates", and/or as justification for US citizens
arming themselves, I would disagree.

In any case, I thought the presentation was worthwhile.
