We watched the remake of "All the King's Men" tonight (a good movie)
and that led me to read up on Huey Long.
I learned that the assassination plot was a many-tentacled affair.
... FDR ?... bodyguard ?...physician ?

It's still not settled, but it reads a lot like Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
