I think the tooth fairy here believes that it should be more of a token gesture.

Kids never forget the level of generosity of the tooth fairy - and it directly correlates to the quality of care at the old-people's home you get chucked into.
I'd rather throw some paper money around now than reek of piss and get smacked around by orderlies in my golden years.

Hmm. Another good point. I could throw the mrs under the bus:
Remember how you used to get five bucks a tooth and then it went down to .75 then to .50, etc. Well, your mom used to take the paper money from under your pillow before I woke up...
