Well down here at 32.08257455954592 we don't get much of that.

I remember my brother telling me a story of a guy on one of his boats (he was an Naval Officer at the time) who saw it snowing when they were out to sea and he ran and hid in his cabin. He was scared because he did not know what was happening. He thought it was fallout.

Tell me about it. This afternoon the kids and I took a walk around the block in t-shirts. Every once in awhile I think I might be jealous of this fun thing you guys have called snow... but, nah, nevermind.

Nice of them to put the woods at the bottom, so you don't have to walk so far back.

If you're feeling sorry for yourself, what with all the snow, check out this collection for some... perspective.

Just returned from a walk with visiting Labradog. He enjoyed it. I didn't. There is no more to be said.

Carruthers.

PS:

SG..................

Has Aylesbury ground to a halt this AM as usual in the circumstances?

I didn't wear my new coat.
I realised when breaking the ice on the birdbath that it was nowhere near cold enough for that. I wore my Mum's jacket instead, and got so hot I had to wear it open halfway to town.

Actually all the roads were clear, so there was no grinding to a halt that I saw. I think the roads here are generally good, but then I lived within spitting distance of the Southern approach to the Blackwell Tunnel. I hope never to live anywhere with traffic quite like that again.

(The Blackwall Tunnel goes under the Thames. Two lanes in each direction, but in separate tunnels. When it is closed it is closed, and there is nowhere else for the traffic to go once they have reached a certain point. Traffic can and does back up for MILES).

We had snow again today. Hours of it. Still didn't settle. I think we've had our ration for this winter.
