the 'unbook', it seems to me, is very much about castration, the elimination of vision, and the reduction of 'one' to mere part in a looming, overarching, process (never mind the 'one' is the creator without who there would be no process).

in short: the 'unbook' is about 'feminizing', emasculating, and 'it takes a village-ism'.

the unbook -- at heart -- is an exercise in *collectivism which the sensible understand is the ruination of any real endeavor.

any real progress in any field occurs because 'one' exercises him 'self' alone, or as undisputed leader.

You have coded collectivism and subsuming of the self into a wider whole as female. You have coded decisive action and vision as male.

This is 18th century gender construction. In Rouseau this is forgivable. In a 21st century man it is pure and misguided misogyny.

For the record: I was not hurt. *smiles* silly boy. I am not so easily wounded. I am however, fascinated (in a slightly sick way) with your views. I really haven't come across anything like that for some time. Certainly not outside of my research.

I was a little surprised when you launched so quickly into personal insults. Not hurt, you understand, merely taken aback. I had misjudged you. *shrugs* it happens.

On this business about emotional investment in ghosts on the screen. Mmm. I dont get angry much in here (and certainly you havent provoked anger from me. There'd have been far more swearing involved, you'll know when I am mad.) but I do emotionally invest. I have friends here, real friends. They matter. What they think matters to me. And I like to flatter myself that what I think might matter to them. This is a community.
