Globalization - a word without meaning!

Globalization is nothing more than a buzzword meaning bigger market=bigger profit, period.
It's not a plan to help anyone but the corporate officers and by extention the stockholders. Any benefits to the third (or any other) world are purely coincidental, unintentional and would be eliminated if it meant more profits.
There have been countless other attempts to improve the lot of the third world that have failed. Usually failure in the form of loan defaults or coups but also corruption like Mexican Oil. Without political stability (don't think Marcos or Mao) the poor were, are and will be fucked.
