Who cares about the place, what about the people? Why should we encourage people to continue to rebuild in a location that is going to threaten their lives?
What does "the place" have culturally that isn't brought by the people? It's the people who matter--and if they want to put their lives and their families' lives on the line for a place, then they're welcome to, but it's not my job to buy them a third house when the second one gets washed away. |

Oprah bought this poor woman with mucho children a brand new house and a brand new van right before Katrina. Katrina ruined the woman's home. NOW Oprah is rebuilding her home, setting her family up in the choicest hotel in Naw'Lins...I wonder if Oprah is gonna be up for round three?
