Gear fayg. My band has been pooling gig money to start upgrading our sound gear, and I've been online shopping. First, a 50' snake so our sound guy can actually run sound from *in front* of the mains, then all the D/I boxes and cables needed to actually plug everything into the snake. Then, some powered hot spot monitors for our keyboardist and our whistle/flute players, so they'll stop losing their place in the middle of songs because they can't hear. A few more gigs, and we'll go to a 24 channel board so that the bass and electric guitars can be mixed with the rest of the stuff, and we'll drive that with a 1500 watt amp for mains power (we only play smallish venues), and another 500 watts or so for floor monitors.

If go so far as getting lighting and such, we're going to have to buy slaves to haul it all, I'm afraid.

A friend of mine has a 100' snake that he runs out into the warehouse attached to his studio, to track instruments with giant reverb.

Me too, although I'm not gigging and thus has to take the money out of my normal budget. Also, I collect studio/recording gear and instruments more than PA.

Also, kitchen knives and frying pans - I don't need a lot of them but every time I see a nice one I feel an urge to buy it, so I have a few too many.
