THX-1138 starred Robert Duvall ... also an excellent character actor.
Duvall played Frank Burns in the movie version of M*A*S*H and along with DeNiro was in the Godfather films. Mebbe that's where the confusion lies. But Anyway ... THX was imprisoned for "medication evasion" I believe. (Darned if I can remember why Donald Pleasance was jailed, though)
