The Eagles will go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl

(The title is a reference to an ancient Usenet thread, way back in the day. When the team lost its first game, a new thread appeared: "The Eagles will go 15-1 and win the Super Bowl!")

I just wanted to put notice in here, because the Eagles just signed Brian Dawkins, safety, to a 7 year contract. This makes me happy, because Dawk is the heart and soul of this team. Number 20 is struttin' in green the rest of his career. And with an awesome draft over the weekend, we gonna expose what everyone knows... the Eag's are a fine organization, ready as usual to rock the park.

Exclamation Mannnn... I'm getting tired of all you "Negadelphia" pessimists

Come on UT, who wants to go 16-0?

True Birds irrational exuberance dictates that we call for a 19-0 season

I'll just hold out irrational hope for the Bears, thanks.

I don't think your hope is irrational, I think the Bears will be much better this year, though a Superbowl run does seem a little far-fetched I guess. I really think the fact that they don't have to travel to their own home games will have a larger impact than many people think.

Bad news Wolf, Kordell Stewart signed with the Bears. Be prepared for heartbreak.

As both a Bears and a Cubs fan, I am ALWAYS prepared for heartbreak. Never have I found teams so astute in the arts of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

But I love 'em.

(as a consolation, my AL team-of-choice is the oft-despised Yankees.)

Oh a Cubs fan, you can handle anything then. Well except for a World Series Win, that is liable to kill your type

On the other hand how in gods name can you cheer for the Yankees along with the Cubs(or any team for that matter), I'm slightly stunned by the concept kind of boggles the mind.

Everyone is entitled to one AL team and one NL team.

Even as a child I wasn't so hot on the White Sox, so Yankees it became.

I am in no actual danger of EVER seeing a series with both teams ... therefore I'm safe (and even if that extremely unlikely event would occur, there would be no question -- I'd be wearinig Cubs blue. yes, I have thought this out.)

I can handle the one AL and on NL team, but seriously the Yankees, well whatever, you can cheer for who you want, me I'll stick with my Twins, the Giants, and whoever is playing the Yankees.

Alright...good to see that Shepps is delusional, much like many Eagles fans.

I wonder how the new stadium will affect them...and how many of the old 700 section fans will be among the crowds.

I'll back any Philly team in the "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" bowl

I'm just excited about the Raiders signing Carson Palmer.

In another 12 years when both his knees are shot.

The only reason to like the Yankees, unfortunately, is because they win. And maybe because they play near you.

Yeah, they may have been likable back in the day, but the mere fact that the team is owned by Steinbrenner is enough for me to dislike them.
