September 12, 2007: Japanese wasp crackers

Am I the only one who is wondering how, exactly, does one "hunt" wasps?

I'm guessing a powerful insecticide sprayed from far away. Think: RAID.
In my experience, you have to SOAK them with it. Wasps are tough SOB's.

So, maybe the boiling is more to clean off the bodies than to cook?
(I'm sure they're totally safe to eat after boiling!)

Maybe they don't use pesticide to catch the wasps. Maybe they just suck them up with a vacuum cleaner like this guy.
