Katie Couric?

Tell me why I should bother with this thread.

I dunno.

I'm just really disappointed in how much ink and verbiage has been spent discussing her imminent arrival as an anchor on a 22-minute "news" show. "Katie Couric this," and "Katie Couric that." These American obsessions with TV personalities grate on me; they can't be avoided. Cute Katie looks up at me from magazines and newspapers, and Catie stories course through the air via radio and television signals. She's more important, evidently, than the role of our Nation in the world or the decisions of our "leaders." I will NOT watch her first show.
