Bri,

First you have to know what the teacher thinks those phrases mean. Somewhere in your previous materials (or in the lectures) they were probably explained.

I assume you read the play. Have you read it more than once? I find that helps.

Now pretend your best friend is sitting in your living room. You've both read the play and she asks you what you think it's all about. What would you say to him/her? Phrase it conversationally. There's your rough draft for the theme of the play.

You have lots of good ideas, Bri. Just get 'em lined up and write 'em down.
