Fun in Texas

On the way, there was this cool-ass car being trailered:

Another view:

plthijinx really liked this car. So did I:

This kind of says it all:

Fred's favorite BBQ shack on the way to the farm. It is good:

The ancient pit at Joel's:

Apparently there is some controversy about which Joel's in the area is the true king of BBQ. So far, no weapons are involved. Unfortunately, there seem to be lawyers in the picture. I'll leave it to you to decide who will ultimately win (hint: it won't be either Joel).

Words to live by:

Multitasking. I'll present this with no comment:

A rebus for you. Scroll to next pic for .5 of the answer:

These are supposedly for kids, but I don't know. Seems kinda kinky to me:

Did get a good rainbow shot. I've never seen one with this low of an arch:

The hearth on the farmhouse. Notice the antique rifle:

A close up view of the 1878 Springfield, with unfortunate model:

My best shot of the trip. It is being entered at DPChallenge.com as my entry for the month. I call it 'Catching a Buzz":

At the local Wal-Mart, they sell paint. The name must have inspired the killer instinct in us:

"Houston, we have a problem!":

According to references, the types of points were made on-site around 3000 BCE. Fred found them after a recent hard rain. It just goes to show you we Texans have radically upgraded our armaments in the past 5000 years:

Lock and load:

My first shot with the new rifle:

The SS Heineken in sight:

The Heineken is sunk on the first volley:

Then I took out all the survivors:

This is S.O.L. Dillo. plt gets credit for the kill:

yeah, yeah, (reaches in pocket pulls out one roll of quarters, a roll of dimes, two rolls of nickels and two rolls of pennies) here you go.

edit: yeah, we had a blast, only problem is that now there's work to be done when things dry out. we lost 3 grafted pecan trees and about 50 feet of land to the Guadalupe river and amassed a ton of river trash in our pecan orchard.

Ok it looks like when i come down in sept i need to drive so i can bring some shooting irons .

That 1878 springfield looks to be an artillery model , long barrel and tangent sights . One of those was supposed to be passed down to me but their was a convveniont burgerly , they took the WW1 mausers(2) as well .
