June 27th, 2015: Watermelon Bread

We're accustomed to seeing strange things from Japan. Many because they get exported, plus the web has shown us many more which remain in Japan. Most everyone has seen photographs of the square watermelons that are all the rage there, and rumored to sell for $800 in Russia.

Taiwan takes it to the next level with bread that looks like a slice of one of those square melons.

The impetus, however, was apparently that kids might not have good appetites during the summer’s hot weather. But if bread was watermelon-shaped, children would want to eat it. Hell, I’m no kid, but I want to eat this.
