This is the thing though, he read them on the promise of steamy sex, and discovered that there were books that could be read for the sheer enjoyment of reading. I mean he also ploughed through The Lord of the Rings, and Tolkein can be quite turgid. And not in a good way.

I read a list a few years back, of books to encourage teenage boys to read.
I wondered whether I should get some of them for my nephew, if he continued to be a reluctant reader (he has).
Now I know it would do no good - he gets everything he needs from other sources. I'm looking at you, internet.

Shame - I'd have loved to be the cool Aunty who introduced him to the Guy N Smith books about killer crabs...
