Please help a MacAddict with a HP-PC issue...

My daughter's PC is starting up with a program "UniBlue Registry Booster 2012"
It seems to be scanning for errors in files, much the same way Norton Utilities does on a Mac.
It reports it found 480+ errors, and asks if I want to fix the errors, but to fix all of them it requires me to purchase the program.
A quick surf of the net finds a review making it seem like a legitimate product... but with some issues.

Is there another (free) way to fix such errors - if they are real ?

Because it goes into scan mode each time the computer is booted up, Is there a way to get rid of this program ?
