OTOH, Perry did show he does have a quick wit and

During Saturday night's foreign policy debate, Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas)
made light of his now famous misstep in the last Republican debate.
He praised Scott Pelley, the debate moderator, when he asked a question
about the Department of Energy, the agency Perry forgot earlier this week.
“Glad you remembered it,” Perry said when asked what he would with
nuclear material if the department was eliminated.
"I've had some time to think about it, sir," Pelley said.
"Me too," Perry shot back to applause from the crowd.
